Policies in the News
Each day we hear about about a government policy and think to ourselves, can this possibly work? What is the long term affect? Or even wow, it’s about time, I like this. This can be a policy from the president, governors, mayors, companies, school and so on. Many have a trickle-down effect.
Sept 26 (Reuters) – Target (TGT.N) said on Tuesday it would close nine stores across four U.S. states, including California, citing that theft and organized retail crime was threatening the security of the retailer’s employees and customers.
The move, effective Oct. 21, will see the closing of one store in New York City, two in Seattle, three locations across the San Francisco and Oakland markets and three in Portland.
The interesting underlying issues is that the leadership in these cities created policies that encourage lawless behavior and then complain that businesses are leaving creating job losses and eliminating affordable quality shopping locations.
Question: what do you think the long term effect is of these policies?
